VIRTUAL BOX

VirtualBox is a general-purpose full virtualizer for x86 hardware. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software.

Some of the features of VirtualBox are:

Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox.
Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers.

HOW TO BURN DATA TO A CD/DVD IN A PC

Before you learn how to burn data to a CD/DVD in a PC, get a blank CD/DVD-R or CD/DVD-RW ready. If you want to keep the data permanently, a CD/DVD-R or Compact Disc/Digital Video Disc-Recordable is recommended because with this type of disk, the data can no longer be erased once the disk is burned. However, if the purpose of burning is just for temporary data storage, you can use a CD/DVD-RW or Compact Disc/Digital Video Disc Re-Writable.

The steps on how to burn data to a CD/DVD in a PC are the following:

First, your PC must have a CD or DVD burning drive. Whether it’s a built-in or an external drive as long as it is capable of burning CDs.
Depending on how you want to proceed, there are different types of CDs that can be burned. These include: Music – used for home or automobile CD/DVD player. Data – used to store files in computer. They need to be formatted and is not readable by a standard CD/DVD player. MP3 – a data CD/DVD that can contain mp3 compressed music files. It can contain more songs compared to music CD. Disk image – used when an exact copy of a CD on a computer is needed.
Open a new window and drag and drop all the files and folders you wish to burn from the hard drive to the disc.
Click “Burn Disk”.
Check the progress bar to see if burning is finished.
Depending on the software used, the steps on how to burn data to a CD/DVD in a PC can be very simple or complicated. Some recommended commercial burning software are Nero, Roxio Creator and Power2Go. If you want a free software, try out BurnAware.

HOW TO INSTALL COMPUTER MEMORY

We want our computers to always function as fast as it was when you first brought it home. Newer applications today are more demanding when it comes to memory resource. If you’re thinking right now that it is very difficult how to install computer memory, then I’m telling you now, it’s pretty easy and simple. You just need to take note of some important things.

Before everything else, be sure that you’re not doing the memory installation on a carpeted area. Simple science. Carpets can create static charges, which can possibly damage the components of your computer. Also, make sure that your computer is turned off and unplugged. You don’t want to burn your hands right? If you have a manual of your computer, I advice that you place it beside you. It might come in handy during the upgrade process.

Main Steps: How to Install Computer Memory
1. Carefully unscrew the casing of your CPU. Be sure to place your screws in a safe location.
2. The computer memory chip or RAM for short, is located on the motherboard, if you’re using a desktop PC. In notebooks, the RAM can be found at the bottom.
3. If you are replacing an old RAM, remove the old RAM by pressing down the clips on the two ends of the slot. If you will simply add another chip, ignore this step.
4. Insert the new RAM into the empty slot. Make sure that the clips on both ends latch. This means, the RAM chip was placed accordingly into the slot.
5. After successfully inserting the RAM, verify if it is working properly. Plug in the computer and turn it on. Go to My Computer, right click and select properties. (Note: this may not be the case with other operating systems, but for this post, we’re dealing with Windows OS) A window will appear indicating the amount of RAM that you have in your computer along with other specifications. Check the RAM amount.
6. Once you have verified that the RAM you inserted is working fine, you may now close the lid of your CPU and off you go to your computer activities.

That’s it. How to install computer memory = Easy as one two three!
